About Our CBD

Additional Information

Why CBD?
Cannabidiol—CBD—is a compound found within the hemp plant that has significant medical benefits. The fact that CBD-rich hemp is non-psychoactive makes it an appealing option for patients looking for relief from inflammation, pain, anxiety, psychosis, seizures, spasms, and other conditions without disconcerting feelings of lethargy or dysphoria.
Scientific and clinical research—much of it sponsored by the US government—underscores CBD’s potential as a treatment for a wide range of conditions, including arthritis, diabetes, alcoholism, MS, chronic pain, schizophrenia, PTSD, depression, antibiotic-resistant infections, epilepsy, and other neurological disorders including Parkinson’s disease. CBD has demonstrable neuroprotective and neurogenic effects, and its anti-cancer properties are currently being investigated at several academic research centers in the United States and elsewhere. Further evidence suggests that CBD is safe even at high doses.

Why Our CBD
Our CBD oil is derived from organically grown hemp plants that we personally tend to and is extracted using a full spectrum extraction method, preserving all the available cannabinoids (CBD, CBD-A, CBD-G, CBD-N, THC under 0.3% ) terpenes and flavonoids which accentuate and facilitate the efficacy and bioavailability of CBD to the endocannabinoid system. Preclinical studies have shown that full-spectrum CBD-rich cannabis oil is effective at much lower doses and has a much wider therapeutic window than pure, pharmaceutical-grade CBD. Many CBD products on the market utilize a crystalline CBD isolate, which may increase profits, but diminishes the health benefits  of the product. Know your product!

Where does our CBD come from?

Located in the South Fork Valley of the Gunnison River, Rock 'n Roots Farm is the product of  love for the land, a commitment to sustainability and the heartfelt belief that we the people have the ability, resources, and power to make a lasting change for our community and our planet.
Our land is adjacent to the Smith Fork of the Gunnison River from which our irrigation water runs. Our hemp fields and those above us have always been used for pasture and hay, with no chemical fertilizers or pesticides. Our water runs pure and clean from the headwaters of the West Elk Wilderness. We practice sustainable farming methods, with organic fertilizers and low or no till which maintains the health of the soils and watershed.
